FAQ
What states do you see patients in?
New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts. You must be physically located within one of these states during all appointments.
Do you see patients in-person?
No - all visits are virtual video visits, through our secure EMR system.
Do you see children?
No, at this time, we only see patients 18 and up.
How often will I need to be seen?
Following your initial consultation, you'll have a follow-up visit to review your lab results, discuss your findings, and develop a personalized treatment plan. After that, the frequency of follow-up visits will depend on your health goals, symptoms, and progress.
Many patients are seen several times during the first year as we optimize their treatment plan and help them achieve their goals. Once symptoms are well-managed and health has stabilized, most patients transition to maintenance visits just once or twice a year.
Do you prescribe medications?
Sometimes. Most people see me to explore more natural treatments, however, I do prescribe medications when I deem appropriate and when desired by the patient.
How can I contact you if I have a question?
If you’re an established patient, please only use the HIPAA compliant patient portal. If you’re interested in working with me but have questions, I recommend setting up a discovery call.
Do you take insurance?
Bloom Health Studio is an out-of-network practice. This means that you are responsible to pay for the visit. For each appointment, I provide a superbill. If you have out-of-network benefits, you can submit this to your insurance company and they may reimburse some of the cost.
Why don’t you take insurance?
I wish that we could. Functional medicine is a time consuming discipline. It requires lengthy, in-depth appointments, complex lab analysis, detailed protocols, and answering portal questions. Unfortunately, insurance would not reimburse adequately for this time. I am committed to keeping prices as reasonable as I can, as I want care to be accessible to as many people as possible.
Are tests covered by insurance?
Blood testing is typically done at either Quest Diagnostics. I use ICD10 (diagnosis) codes and labs get billed to your insurance. However, I do not have any insight as to what your insurance will or will not cover. Please reach out to your insurance company directly if you have questions about billing. Sometimes I will recommend other types of testing, like stool, breath, or salivary testing. These tests are sometimes partially covered by insurance. I will never pressure a patient to do testing that they cannot afford or do not want.
Will you recommend specific supplement brands or products?
Yes, I’m very specific in regards to recommendations. We use a company called Fullscript. After your follow up visit, I’ll send you a link inviting you to create a Fullscript account, and you can see all of the specific product recommendations there (however, you can purchase them anywhere you like).
How do I book an initial visit?
